Rugby Union - All Blacks v South Africa

Preview By Tipster Jumbo (New Zealand)

Tipster Avatar The first match of this seasons Triu Nations takes place in Wellington as the World Cup holders South Africa are here in NZ to face off against the All Blacks.

The South Africans might hold the William Webb Ellis Trophy but they themselves admit that untill they beat the All Blacks that they do not consider themselves to be clear World Champions and a win for them in NZ which has not happened for 10 years is their ultimate goal to see them finally shrugging off those nagging thoughts in their heads and from others that they are in fact the undisputed Champions of World Rugby.

South Africa arrived here last Friday and have been having a good test build up in the Welligton, they have a very, very strong side and are looking forward to the challenge that awaits them,in alot of ways they have named a side that should beat the All Blacks, their forward pack is very solid and has it's strengths in their line out which is an area they used to their advantage in the WC and against an All Black side that is still struggling with that part of their play the Boks will have some joy in that area, they also hgave a very defensive backline which they will need to be and they have shown they can be very hard to run through or over and on their flanks they have some major speed,so really this is the Boks best cahnce to win a game here in NZ for the last 10 years, they have thenmotivation and they are looking very serious about doing the Busieness and I beleive against this All Black side that they can.

The All blacks have had a good opening couple of matches against the Irish and the English but that is nothing to what they are about to face on Saturday Night, the All Blacks are mssing Mc'Caw whichh is a huge loss,Mc'Caw is repsonsible for almost half of the All black turnovers in resebt seasons and with Thompson the newbie and no other player in this All bLack forward pack that has an outstanding turn over rate the All Blacks will reallyu miss that part of Mc Caws game, but it's not only his loss in personal that has to be a major worry to the All Blacks, this side has a very in experienced look about it,in the backline they have Rudi Wulf and in the forwards they have no player as good as Mc Caw and also have Thompson who is going to be very good one day now facing up against the might of the Boks pack, the All Blacks are still struggling to find any sense of form in their line out and their scrum althoiugh strong will have troubles getting over the Boks scrum, but there are reasons to like the All Blacks though as well.

Dan Carter is the key,he has the abilty to win games on his own and against both the Irish and English he was superb and showed some real class in all those games, there is also the new laws that a number of the South African players more notably in their forward pack have not played under while for the AB's players they have just finished an entire season under them in the Super 14,so there are two very big factors to make you like the All Blacks chances here but I don't like them at all.

I saw the Boks first press confrence and they mean Busieness and I think they will get the job done on Saturday Night, the Boks know where to attack and how to control the ball well,we still are struggling to do that for large periods of the game, spped wise and the Boks are just as quick as us and experience wise that does not lay with us at all it's all with the Spingboks,I think they have come here with the Intention of treating this game like the World Cup Final and that is the right mindset, they all look very focused and I think they can get the job done, there is also the case of Williams who has now become an experienced All Black wh will not train this week buut will play on Saturday,...There is something not right about this All Black side and with the Boks seemingly here with the right attitude and intrestingly enough playing in Wellington the last place 10 years ago that the Boks beat the AB's in 98 13-3,I give them every chance in the world of beating us and these odds will only go down from here...Check the Starts later in the week but take the Boks to beat us outright on Saturday Night in Wellington...Good Luck.
